About

Mark Lybarger is a Sourcing Global Category Manager for Zimmer Biomet located at their corporate headquarters in Warsaw, Indiana.  Zimmer Biomet is a global medical technology leader with a comprehensive portfolio designed to maximize mobility and improve the health of patients around the world.  

Mark has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management.  Early on in his career, Mark led various manufacturing teams as a Production Supervisor and later as a Production Manager.  Mark was able to successfully progress and grow his career within manufacturing leadership where he ultimately became a Plant Manager.  Throughout Marks career as a manufacturing manager, he developed a strong reputation for driving sustained manufacturing performance demonstrated through well-defined KPIs.  Mark was most recognized for transforming several departments he led from dysfunctional work environments into thriving and high-performing teams with increased employee satisfaction and retainment. 

After Mark’s tenure in manufacturing leadership, he transitioned into Sourcing where he has now worked over 20 years as a sourcing professional.  Throughout Mark’s journey in Sourcing he maintained a strong track record as a Sourcing Buyer where he was able to complete several substantial cost savings projects.  As Mark progressed in his Sourcing career, he took on the role of Sourcing Manager where he led up to 15 Buyers in four different states supporting eight company value streams.  

In Mark’s current role as a Global Category Manager, he is managing strategic partnerships with packaging material suppliers, many of which support multiple Zimmer Biomet locations across EMEA, APAC and AMERICAS.  During the recent global supply chain challenges, Mark has shifted his focus towards minimizing risk and eliminating supply disruptions.  Mark has been highly successful in this effort of combating the recent challenges by leveraging positive relationships formed with key supplier leaders and internal stakeholders from all cross functional groups.
