Contracting: Beyond the Basics

Effective contracts require more than a basic understanding of terms and conditions. This course helps experienced supply chain professionals strengthen their ability to draft, evaluate and customize agreements across a wide range of business situations.

Participants review real contract clauses and their uses across services, software, construction and e-commerce scenarios and address contracting from a global perspective. You are encouraged to bring copies of your own contracts for reference and hands-on application during the program.

Jerry Foxhoven has been a practicing lawyer for over forty years.  He has spoken at over 200 professional seminars and trainings to educators, law professors, attorneys, judges, and business professionals.  Jerry has written and published six (6) law review articles, 26 magazine articles, 6 newspaper articles and a law school casebook with teacher’s manual.  He has served as a law school professor and the Director of Clinical Programs at the Drake University Law School.  He is known for his ability to take complex legal principles and make them understandable to lawyers and nonlawyers alike.  Jerry applies the law to real-life situations allowing the nonlawyer to be proactive in preventing litigation by anticipating complications both in the formation of legal agreements and in tying any response to issues to contractual rights and responsibilities.
