ISM-Philadelphia: Forecasting the Future: Predictive Analytics for Risk-Ready Procurement
Change is constant, but knowing that doesn’t necessarily make us better at dealing with it. What happens when priorities shift, resources get tighter, someone with years of knowledge walks out the door, a supplier falls through, or the plan you started with simply doesn’t work anymore? Building on our April conversation about resilience, this session takes the next step. We’ll look at what happens when organizations get so focused on solving what’s happening right now that they don’t stop long enough to ask what could happen next, where they may be vulnerable, or what they could do now to give themselves more options later.
This will be a conversation, not a lecture. Through real examples, scenarios, and questions for the room, we’ll look at how we make decisions when things change and where we may have become too dependent on one person, one process, one supplier, or one way of doing things. We can’t predict or prepare for everything, and that isn’t the goal. The goal is to get better at seeing problems earlier, asking better questions before something becomes urgent, and building organizations that can keep moving when the plan changes.
