ISM-Western New York Lunch & Learn Webinar: Rethinking What Matters: A Dialogue on the Future of Supply Chain Management
Ten years ago, the landmark study from Wieland, Handfield and Durach published in the Journal of Business Logistics asked supply chain scholars to identify which topics would shape the future of the field. A decade later, we face a dramatically different world where pandemics, geopolitical instability, climate risk, and new regulatory pressures have reshaped the global supply chain landscape.
In this session, we present key findings from a follow-up study that revisits those research forecasts. Based on an extensive literature review and a new international survey of 180 supply chain academics, we examine how the field has evolved and which research areas are now seen as most promising.
But more importantly—we want to hear from you! Through a live survey and interactive discussion, this webinar invites practitioners to react to these academic priorities. What aligns with your current challenges? What’s missing? And where should research go next to truly support the supply chain leaders of today?
This session is ideal for supply chain professionals looking to stay ahead of the curve, contribute to shaping research directions, and ensure that academic insight keeps pace with supply chain practices.
