Frank Van Buren is the Founder and Managing Director of Van Buren Advisory LLC, a talent development firm based in Charlotte, NC. Founded in 2024, VBA delivers leadership and professional soft skills training through in-person workshops, virtual programs, on-demand learning, and keynote engagements—empowering students, early talent, and seasoned professionals to thrive in competitive environments.
Frank brings 26 years of Wall Street experience from his leadership roles at Wells Fargo in Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, and Talent Development. As Managing Director and CIB Talent Development Leader, he drove strategic initiatives across recruiting, coaching, and retention, impacting 1,000+ bankers. From 2019–2023, he served as Development Officer for Global M&A and Regional IB, supporting over 100 professionals from Analyst to VP level. He was a recipient of the firm’s Golden Spoke and Champion’s Spotlight Awards.
Before entering finance, Frank served six years as a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot in the U.S. Army, leading MEDEVAC, drug interdiction, and air cavalry missions across Germany, Central America, and the Middle East. His leadership journey is chronicled in his book Life Lessons from the Cockpit (Amazon).
Frank earned his MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler as a Consortium Fellow and holds a B.A. from Shippensburg University, where he was an All-Conference football player. He serves on the Board of Veterans Bridge Home and as an advisor to Shippensburg University’s College of Business.
