The Institute for Supply Management® conducted research between Feb. 12 – June 4, 2021, focusing on sustainability, the role of supply management in sustainability and sustainability programs through suppliers. Below are some highlights.

Of respondents say the Board of Directors or CEO is the highest-ranking stakeholder of their company’s sustainability goals.

Of respondents say the execution of sustainability initiatives is led by supply management.

ISM SUSTAINABILITY RESEARCH HIGHLIGHTS

Institute for Supply Management® conducted research, surveying more than 550 supply chain professionals focusing on sustainability, the role of supply management in sustainability and sustainability programs through suppliers. ISM Chief Executive Officer, Tom Derry, reviews research highlights and some key outcomes.

The survey highlights that sustainability in supply management across many organizations is still in its infancy. For example, 56% report only using Microsoft Excel to implement and manage sustainability strategy, and 62% only use Excel as a tool to measure the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives, rather than other, more advanced tools or technology.

ISM Group to Do ‘Heavy Lifting’ to Raise Women in Procurement
