On a Mission to Build Learning That Lasts
How do we ensure people learn what they need to — and retain it? What problem(s) are we trying to solve through the learning experience?
Those two questions have shaped my career.
I’ve worked in elementary and higher education as a classroom teacher, principal and academic director, including teaching in Mexico and Russia. I then transitioned into product management roles at such organizations as McGraw Hill Education, Teachers of Tomorrow and Stride K12, directing product strategy end to end — from concept through delivery — and ensuring every component and every stakeholder were accounted for along the way.
That depth of education expertise is what Institute for Supply Management®’s (ISM®) mission and vision demand.
Training that doesn’t transfer, credentials that don’t translate to real capabilities, and tools that create friction rather than remove it fail the people they’re meant to serve. Having spent my career learning to tell the difference, I’ve built my expertise on distinguishing between education that looks good on paper and education that produces real, lasting growth.
That is central to ISM’s vision: effective learning, credentials, community, assessments, tools and supplier solutions that support professionals at every career stage. I see my role as ensuring each of those components is built with that lasting impact in mind.
Strong products result from (1) listening closely to the people who use them, (2) engaging the right stakeholders at the right time and (3) holding a clear standard for what “done well” means across every stage of delivery.
I am energized by what ISM is building and excited to bring my product leadership — as part educator/administrator, part communicator and part builder — to a mission and vision I believe in.
Whether the work is a certification pathway, a learning tool or a supplier solution, my goal remains the same: Ensuring what gets built genuinely helps people learn, grow and succeed. I look forward to getting to know the ISM community and contributing to products that serve it well.
