The RFP process can present numerous challenges for procurement teams. A stakeholder, for various reasons, may not want to take the time required to plan an RFP, for instance. Individuals who are concerned about timing, complexity and overengineering might skip the RFP process and go straight to supplier selection. This removes the opportunity for stakeholders to assess different competitors, innovations and approaches.
