Succeed With ISM Mastery Model

May 07, 2015

While part of ISM2015 is celebrating the past 100 years, it's more about focusing on the 100 years ahead. Thomas W. Derry, Institute for Supply Management® CEO, made that focus front and center during his press conference to launch the ISM Mastery Model. The ISM Mastery Model is a major step forward in training practitioners and growing the profession.

Comprised of 16 competencies and 69 sub-competencies, the Mastery Model is segmented across four career levels from Essentials and Experienced to Leadership and Executive Leadership. Regardless of your level of experience in the profession, the Mastery Model provides the framework to strengthen your skills. Derry describes the Mastery Model as "a seminal moment not just for ISM, but for the profession."

Practitioners and companies alike can use the Mastery Model to assess their skill levels against such competencies as business acumen, category management, negotiations and supply chain planning. With 350 ISM products mapped back to the sub-competencies, including alignment of tasks related to the CPSM® certification, practitioners resources at their fingertips to strengthen their skills.
