Definition: A warehouse specializing in the consolidation and deconsolidation of cargo, a container freight station (CFS) plays a critical role in shipping, simplifying and speeding up importing and exporting processes. Typically operated by a shipping line or terminal and located close to a port, a CFS — also called a cargo distribution park — separates and sends smaller shipments to their respective locations or consolidates all cargo going to a specific destination and places it in a single container.
