Nominate 30 Under 30Rising Stars by October 30

October 01, 2015

It's October 1, and the clock is ticking. If there is a young (30 or under) supply management professional that deserves recognition for the contributions and talent he or she lends to your organization, nominate them now for 2016's 30 Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars.

This unique recognition program from ThomasNet and Institute for Supply Management® was launched last year and attracted a wide range of nominees and helped propel the 30 Rising Stars into the supply management stratosphere. The winners have been featured prominently in the media and at professional events around the country, and their insights continue to be in high demand in an industry that's working hard to include and maximize the strengths of young professionals. For example, in the March 2015 issue of Inside Supply Management®, we featured an article about the winners and the Megawatt Star — Katy Conrad from Shell. And look for an exciting young professionals' panel discussion in the November/December 2015 issue of the magazine, featuring several of this year's Rising Stars.

“Supply management professionals have a direct impact on companies’ financial performance, and our industry must continue attracting the ‘best and brightest’ to maximize our contribution. We’re urging everyone to stake a claim in our collective future by nominating a rising star,” said Tom Derry, CEO of ISM.

Individuals are invited to nominate young professionals whose innovation, leadership, initiative and/or collaboration are benefiting their organizations, associations or the industry at large. Anyone in the private or public sector who will be 30 or younger by December 31, 2015 is eligible. Individuals may also self-nominate.

Each of the 30 winners will be rewarded with a free one-year membership in ISM. The “megawatt star” among them, and their nominator, will receive an all-expense-paid trip to ISM’s 2016 Annual Conference, May 16-18 in Indianapolis.

"The 30 Under 30 program is a great concept," said David Allen, operational excellence and functional excellence lead at Shell and the person who nominated Conrad for the 2015 list. "This group represents the future of where our supply chain profession is headed. Not only do these individuals provide tremendous value to their chosen companies, they give back their time, knowledge and passion for success to further the supply chain profession. They are to be commended and emulated."
