Rich joined Kaiser Permanente (KP) in 1996 after working in various supply chain management roles at the George Washington University (GWU) Medical Center in Washington, DC. He is responsible for KP’s purchasing, sourcing/contracting, inventory, logistics, and supplier diversity functions across the Washington, D.C. region. He has extensive experience in negotiating and managing relationships in several categories including, courier services, mail/copy center, linen/laundry, food services, IT services, clinical technology services, warehousing, and logistics. Rich has spent his supply chain management career focused on elevating the role of procurement by consistently leveraging data and analytics to challenge the status quo. He is the architect of the KP-Mid-Atlantic region’s strategy to outsource non-core services that optimize cost and leverage partner capabilities.
Rich participated in KP’s Executive Leadership Program at The Harvard Business School and is a graduate of Georgetown University’s ICF Accredited Leadership Coaching program. He has also trained in mindfulness, improvisational comedy, and laughter yoga.
