Luis J Concepcion (CPSM, CPSD) is the Global Procurement Category Manager for Facility, Construction and Maintenance Services at DuPont.

Luis is responsible for developing and executing global category strategies for Construction, Maintenance & Facility Services categories. Mentors and leads team in the Facility Services Category Tower. Leads the collaboration with business and functional leaders in the establishment and execution of procurement & value creation strategies. Areas of spend activity include the purchase of Contracted Services to support the company in its science and innovation mission

Luis is passionate about attracting, developing and retaining a viable list of qualified diverse suppliers across his buying space to advance and accelerate small business and diverse supplier spend at Dupont.

Prior to joining Dupont in 2003, Luis held several supply chain positions in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry in Puerto Rico, where he was born and raised.

Luis holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He is CPSM &CPSD certified and is a Six Sigma Green Belt. He is a founding member of the Dupont Supplier Diversity Advisory Council and leads the DuPont`s LATIN Network ERG Networking efforts and activities.  He currently is an active member and contributor to the Institute of Supply Management (ISM) Talent Management Committee.

  1. Dive into segmentation: Supplier portfolio matrix and customer matrix.
  2. A category management overview and process that will cover: definitions, best practices, and category teams.
  3. Examine supply market analysis, including SWOT, market analysis, STEEP, sources of date, Porter’s 5 Forces, and multi-year analysis.
  4. Learn more about spend analysis: addressable spend, Pareto analysis, classification and categorization.
  5. Dig deeper into price and cost analysis: price and cost development, supplier pricing methods and cost models, deconstructing price, variable cost analysis, portfolio matrix.
  6. Take a closer look at supplier financial analysis: profitability ratios, efficiency ratios, sources of data.
  7. Examine risk management deeper: planning and strategy and portfolio and risk matrices.
  8. Dive into opportunity analysis, including supplier matrix.
  9. Learn more about category strategy development and category plan.
  10. Examine contracts and SOWs, including elements of a contract, types of contracts, significance, and elements of SOWs.
  11. Leave with an action plan to implement with you’ve learned into your organization for success.

Cancellations Virtual Learning: Cancellations more than 5 weeks before the date of the course will incur an administrative charge of 50 percent. Cancellation within 5 weeks of the date of the event will be charged the full fee. You must notify ISM in writing of a cancellation.
