Presenters

Rich Weissman, an experienced supply chain management practitioner and educator, works with businesses to build scalable and sustainable supply chain and customer service strategies. His focus includes sales and operations planning, strategic sourcing, process improvement, and sales and customer service management. Rich teaches operations and supply chain management, strategy and policy, small business management, leadership, marketing, negotiation, and managerial economics at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and writes and speaks extensively on issues impacting the global supply chain. Weissman earned an MS in Management from Lesley University and a BA in Economics from Rutgers University.

    • Dive deep into the first part of the sourcing cycle to learn about recognition of need, specification of need, search strategies and analysis of supplier proposals.

    • Distinguish stakeholder needs versus wants to optimize the purchase.
  3. Specification Requirements:
    • Learn the three main types of a high-quality specification.
  4. Purchase Timing Options:
    • Identify and select an appropriate procurement strategy that considers when you need the sourced product or service.
  5. Potential Sources:
    • Gain insight into the various ways to discover sources and their capabilities.

Transferring registrations to another party are subject to price variance or change based on membership status and an additional $50 fee will be incurred.

Cancellations Virtual Learning: Cancellations more than 5 weeks before the date of the course will incur an administrative charge of 50 percent. Cancellation within 5 weeks of the date of the event will be charged the full fee. You must notify ISM in writing of a cancellation.
